Membership is not required to attend NBHCA meetings – we welcome any and all interested to get involved!
However, an annual membership supports our mandatory operating expenses and also gives you access to member-only benefits, including voting rights within the association.
Any individual who wants to have voting rights needs to be a dues-paying or senior member living within our boundaries – see more details below.
2025/2026 Membership Tiers:
All memberships in NBHCA are for individuals age 18+ living within our boundaries (see the map of our boundaries on the About page).
We currently have three membership tiers for 2025. Please note these tiers are subject to change:
- Individual Standard membership (18-64 yrs of age): $12 per calendar year, covering January to December (includes covering the processing fees with our Square payments account). All individual members ages 64 and younger who wish to vote on association business must be dues-paying members. Dues paid from October or later in any given year will be prorated to a $15 membership that includes the remainder of the current calendar year plus the entirety of the next calendar year.
- Individual Senior membership (65 years+ of age at the time of registration): Free, with voting rights. We value the leadership and voice of the elders in our community. Seniors 65+ in our boundaries are invited to join as voting members without paying membership dues.
- Community Level membership (18+): Free, but no voting rights. Want to formerly register your interest and involvement in the association but not ready to make a financial commitment? Join us as a Community Level member to still participate in meetings, suggest ideas, etc. You will not have voting rights with this membership nor may you run for any board or office.
Finances and Terms:
Dues are payable annually by January 15th for the current calendar year, or payable from the moment of joining the Association. Dues payments are non-refundable for the year and align to the Association’s fiscal year of January 1 to December 31.

What am I paying for? Where do my membership dues go?
Membership dues are essential to cover our mandatory operating expenses, including but not limited to: marketing material (including this website), mandatory state registration, bank fees for the association, catering and other materials for our community events, and other costs essential to our functioning (ie office supplies and presentations to name a couple).
All leaders of the civic association are volunteers and we are a registered 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit association (EIN: 85-3238894).
Any surplus in dues is used to (1) ensure our sustained financial solvency and (2) fund investments and charitable giving back into our community. Any such decisions would be transparent and voted on/agreed by our membership. Regular financial reports by the Treasurer are included as part of our membership meetings.
